Committee Descriptions
Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance (WBEA) committees serve under the direction of the President and strive to increase the organizational capacity of WBEA and WBEs.
Certification Review Committee
The Certification Review Committee is responsible for the certification and recertification process of all WBEs. Committee members are trained using the WBENC Standards and Procedures and participation on this committee is by invitation from the President only.
Corporate Advisory Committee
This committee is open to WBEA corporate members. The purpose of the Corporate Advisory Committee is to share knowledge and provide direction on supplier diversity trends and issues that impact the mission and programs of the WBEA.
Annual Conference & Business Fair Committee
WBEA Annual Conference & Business Fair is the largest event of the year. Considered the premier networking opportunity for women in business, the Conference attracts over 1300 people and focuses on connecting women business enterprises (WBEs) with corporate purchasers, government agencies, and other women –owned businesses for the primary purpose of creating connection and building strong business relationships. The committee is responsible for marketing the event, recruiting sponsors and attendees, developing volunteer schedules, as well as coordination of the reception, luncheon, and tradeshow.
Golf Committee
The Golf Committee develops one of the most popular, fun-filled events of the year! The Annual Golf Classic & Silent Auction serves as one of our primary fundraisers, providing resources essential to the continued success of women- owned businesses. The golf tournament is a great day for enjoying the beauty of Houston in October while connecting and networking with corporate members and other WBEs.
San Antonio Regional Committee (SARC)
SARC is responsible for marketing the WBEA in the greater San Antonio area to both potential WBEs and Corporate Members. This committee also plans monthly educational or networking programs.
The Forum
The Forum is the ‘think tank’ of the organization, formulating and assessing additional programs that would give every WBEA member more value to their membership. We are looking for members in every size business, every industry and all over the greater Houston area. Come join the committee where you KNOW you can make a difference!
